| Περιγραφή Προγράμματος: | The aim of the research is to gather and re-examine all the known to-date coin hoards from the island of Crete, hoarded from the antiquity until later times, the study and publication of new finds, and the re-assessment of the phenomenon of hoarding in Crete.
The project is expected to last for two years and during that period, visits will be paid to the archaeological museums of Crete (Chania, Rethymno, Herakleion, Agios Nikoalos), to the Numismatic Museum at Athens, as well as in at least two more museums abroad (i.e. The British Museum, London and Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris) for the study of coin hoards.
The research will result to the publication of two volumes under the title Cretan Coin Hoards (CCH) I and ΙΙ, where the first will contain the coin-hoards of the archaic, classical and hellenistic period and the second the coin-hoards of the Roman, medieval and later years.
