Περιγραφή Προγράμματος: | The peculiarity of Seafaring Profession, the continuous revisions and updates of the institutional framework of the internationalized shipping industry need constant training, and continued updating of knowledge and regulations in order executives to be able to meet the international requirements of the industry.
With this project, e-learning is proposed to integrate different levels of education (practical, theoretical, life-long executive education public and private maritime sector in Greece and Cyprus) through an electronic platform knowledge, which in addition will provide significant added value to naval educational systems and maritime directions of both countries, which are in top positions in the world ranking for decades. At the same time, seafarers and shipping business executives from around the world, and students / alumni maritime universities will be able to learn or refresh their skills, regardless of their geographic location.
Objectives of the project are:
•The seafarers training systems upgrade and the general ship specializations in maritime industry.
•The provision of knowledge and updates regards the institutional framework governing the shipping industry, and affects the business operations.
•The theoretical and practical knowledge being at the same time, hence addressing both practical issues (security issues vessels, piracy, etc.) and more theoretically as the International Regulations, the contract modification, the market developments, etc.
•The osmosis between the two institutional actors which are responsible for commercial shipping, Cyprus and Greece, and sharing of expertise and useful conclusions, directly reported to the website of the common platform for the benefit of executives and business establishments.
•The integration on different education levels (practical, theoretical, life-long executive education public and private maritime sector in Greece and Cyprus) through an electronic platform.
•The development of modern educational tools in the field of shipping, with the support of technology, with aim to produce not only understandable knowledge, but also to be the benchmark to the effort to spread education as a methodological tool in other areas.
The goodwill for both countries is obvious, since it will become pioneer in Lifelong Education in the field of Marine industry.
