TOPIC: After thw Crisis
AIM:
To take stock of the current state of tourism research and education specifically in the light of the effects of the global financial crisis (GFC)
To anticipate future developments and explore new priorities for tourism education and research and education within this, the five themes of UNWTO could provide a basis for exploration:
Tourism in the policy making arena
Sustainability and ethics
Travel facilitation, especially visa policies
Air connectivity
Taxation of tourism
To provide an opportunity to explore the effects and consequences of the GFC and associated developments on Greece, a country highly dependent on tourism and highly affected by the crisis.
