| Περιγραφή Προγράμματος: | The main objective of the project "EPIKOUROS" is to design and develop a virtualized middleware platform that allows the creation and structuring of the environments that enable the collection, management and integration of information from multiple sensors and sensor networks, but also the management of business processes supported by the infrastructure of the sensors. Most specifically, the virtualized platform "EPIKOUROS" will allow the easy creation of an environment application development and business process management based on multiple heterogeneous sensors. This environment will provide tools to access the information and capabilities of sensors, combining information from different sensors, and Business Process Management system based on the sensors. It will also enable the integration of these processes with other enterprise systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, MES).nThe platform "EPIKOUROS" will be offered by the provider‘ s infrastructure within a computational model of PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), which provides the creation of virtual machines over the virtualized infrastructure provider, also with the model SaaS (Software-as -a-Service), which provides a software from the provider’ s infrastructure. For this reason, the project "EPIKOUROS" can be seen as the convergence of two modern and powerful computer models, namely the Internet of sensors and the computational cloud model (cloud computing).
