Περιγραφή Προγράμματος: | Understanding and predicting when an import container will be picked up could greatly improve the efficiency of the operations and resource allocation in a container terminal. iPick Phase A aims at developing a forecasting model based on aggregate time series data, to predict the probability that an import container will be picked up on a specific time of day nThe iPick-Phase A scope of work includes the development of aggregate models regarding the pickup of import containers based on aggregate data.nAggregate Model Development: to develop forecasting models for predicting the departure patterns of import containers based on aggregate data. This task consists of two tasks: (a) aggregate data assembly; and (b) model development for predicting departure rates of containers. nTask A.1: Aggregate Data Collection/ConsolidationnThe data utilized in this Project will become available by the port of Beirut, Lebanon and the port of Busan, South Korea. Under the scope of this project only the import containers that leave the terminal by road will be taken under consideration.nTask A.2: Aggregate Model DevelopmentnThe aim of this task is to develop Regression and/or Poisson type models to estimate the departure rates of the containers that are transported to the mainland by road (i.e. the probability of having y number of containers leaving the terminal at a certain day). During this stage, the correlation between the dwell time of the container and the truck company that picks it up will be explicitly captured. n |
