| Περιγραφή Προγράμματος: | Investigation of the risk of lead poisoning in the European population of the Lesser White-fronted Goose (Anser erythropus) which winters entirely in Greece. Droppings of Lesser White-fronted Geese collected at the two main wintering sites, Lake Kerkini and the Evros Delta, will be examined for the presence of lead. Lead concentration in droppings will be compared with those of soil samples and of droppings of the much commoner and closely related species, the White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons) wintering in the same areas. Levels of lead are evaluated in terms of the probability of adverse impacts on the population.
