Περιγραφή Προγράμματος: | The present curriculum, called “ Clinical Sociology, critical mental and social empowerment” is designed to offer the basic knowledge and an introduction to the latest research developments in the area of Clinical Sociology, mental health through the infancy to elderly. This project aims at promoting the lay and scientific understanding of the psychological and social processes involved through the life span by placing a special emphasis on the role of social network, social empowerment and resilience. Therefore, basic principles of social counselling and social empowerment will be presented as means to promote both mental and social health. Within the core of this curriculum is to dispel myths concerning severe and persistent mental illness, such as schizophrenia and to guide both relatives and professionals into psycho-educational interventions. Stigma is a major cause of inequalities and social exclusion and the course offers the updated knowledge of designing anti-stigma campaigns. The role of arts within a “healthy city” model is a promising new direction to promote a new and reflective stand to life.
