The emphasis of the new PSP is on the application of the methods of Geo-Informatics to the study of a variety of natural and social phenomena. Geo-Informatics develops and utilises Information Technologies to collect, manage, analyse, model and visualise spatial and temporal data, thus supporting the description and interpretation of geographical phenomena, as well as the decision-making for problems that originate from them. Such methods allow specialists from a variety of disciplines to be involved in the analysis of spatial relations among environmental, socio-economic and other factors in a more effective way than traditional methods and techniques. |
